We went to the first ever PWD Jamboree in Seneca, SC, this past weekend and it was AWESOME!!

It was kinda sorta a longish drive but there were only 3 of us pups in the Water Dog Van (Sammie, Phoebe, and me) so there was lots of room.   Not a bad trip.  The first night Mom and I had our VERY OWN room.  That was way different from normal, but kind of cool too.

Our first day (Thursday) was setting up and swimming.  The lake was BEE –U– TI-FUL and still warm.  I got an official practice time where we did all our exercises.  It wasn’t very long but I had gotten an earlier swim time nearby with most of the gang so it was good.  In the evening my daddy came too, so Mom and I had to share our room with him.  But I didn’t mind.  He’s an OK guy even if he does call me Shithead.

On Friday we swam a little in the morning, just for fun.  ‘Cause you know I LUV to swim!!  Then it started raining and it rained ALL day.  We got soaked.  But in spite of that I passed my Therapy Dog International test.  No problem for me because unless there is a water body around I am cool, calm, and restrained ;)  Mom is excited about getting me an ID badge.  I hope she uses a good picture.  When she gets all that done we can go new places and visit new people.  I’m not as outgoing as my brother Armada, but I think I’ll still like it.

The weather was much nicer SaturdayThe people kept complaining how cool it was.  Silly people.  It was great.  I had to wait in my crate ALL MORNING to get a turn in the lake so when it was FINALLY my turn I was ready for it.  Me and mom went out and did a few float line throws then started in on my exercises.  I don’t know why they are called exercises.  That makes them sound unpleasant but really they are GREAT FUN!  Mom said I was perfect at all of them except getting my float line.  She said it took a little bit for me to decide to go get it.  WHATEVER.  She just needs to chill.  I was gonna get it, just not in a big rush.  The judge told her she needs to relax and I AGREE!  The judge told her she had a firecracker, whatever that means.  Anyway, when we were done Mom was VERY happy and everybody cheered for us and they called me an Apprentice Water Dog,  I got a whole hot dog as my jack-pot.  Then we had a family swim where all I had to do was swim and chase after my bumper.  Later on the way home Mom got me a whole order of CHIK-FIL-A CHICKEN NUGGETS!  I was a happy, happy girl.

Sunday was also a nice day, with silly people whining about the cold.  I got to get in the lake again.  We did a different set of “exercises” but I didn’t have much trouble with them.  Mom said I jumped for my bumper from the other boat too soon.  Oh well.  I was impatient to GET IT.  I refused to jump in after my float line AT ALL.  I just didn’t feel like.  They’ve been making such a big deal of that dang line lately and I’m just sick of it.  We didn’t pass, but it wasn’t just me.  Mom messed up too.  She threw stuff overboard before judge told her too.  But hey, it was decent for our first try.  There’s always next year AND I CANNOT WAIT!!

Caly Out!
