The Portuguese Water Dog is a Working Dog through and through. This breed was developed to do a full day's work day after day as deckhands on Portuguese fishing boats. With a long history of being such hard working dogs, today's PWD is happiest when given a job to do. If you don't give your PWD something to do, he or she might find a job on their own. Dog sports are a great way to give your PWD an outlet for their remarkable drive and energy.
