Aunt Marta came back from her trip the other day, and she picked up Swish yesterday afternoon, now there's only one Oaf in the house! I can finally enjoy a little bit of peace, but the Oaf that is left has been Mister Pouty Pants since the Oafette left. However, the Oaf's poutiness has been to my advantage, we got deer bones last night! They are so yummy! Mommy and Daddy made us chew on our bones in our beds, because they're "gross" says Mommy. So we're in our beds just gnawing away at our bones, and I thought to myself, "Self, you know what would be fun? Messing with the Oaf!" You see Trek's bone was right up against the wall of his bed, next to my bed, so every time he would go to chew on his bone I'd growl at him a little bit. Tee Hee Hee!!! He turned into France immediately. That puppy is so much fun to pick on, but I guess Daddy didn't think it was very funny. Next thing I know Daddy is putting me in Swish's bed with my bone. He didn't even wash the blankets, so now I smell like a Golden, hmph!
Tchau!
Mommy came home from the place she wears pretty clothes much earlier than usual yesterday. She didn't even say Hi to us pups. She just went upstairs, never to return. After a little bit Daddy told me Mommy wasn't feeling well, so he brought me up to cuddle with her. I got to cuddle with Mommy for a while, and then Daddy came up and made Mommy go downstairs for a little bit. Before Daddy let me, the Oaf, and the Bigger Oaf out for last call, I heard Mommy tell Daddy that since I was really cute, I should get to sleep upstairs! Guess what?!? Daddy put the Oafs in their beds, and he took me up with him to sleep with Mommy and Daddy!!!! Instead of having to listen to the Oaf banjos I just had to listen to the Daddy Banjo! Mommy still wasn't feeling great, so I knew I needed to cuddle her the mostest, so I did. Mommy is a good pillow! I must have done a great job cuddling because this morning she felt MUCH better! She even played with me a little bit before going to the place she wears pretty clothes. I'm magical!
Tchau!
My house is a revolving door of dogs. We always seem to have a 3rd dog, but this time I'm not entirely sure this one is a dog. She very well might be a pony! The pony's name is Swish, she's a Golden Retriever and she belongs to Aunt Marta. Apparently, Swish and the Oaf shared living quarters when the Oaf lived with Aunt Marta. This doesn't surprise me because they're basically the same big, goofy dog. Since the Oaf is occupied with another Oaf, I get a break from Oaf antics! I still get in there and play occasionally, but it's more fun just to watch the two Oafs oaf around. I was really hoping that Mommy and Daddy would let me sleep with them while the Pony was here, but that has yet to happen, so I get tormented by the dueling banjos on either side of me each night....Maybe if I look really cute tonight when Mommy gets home from the place that she wears pretty clothes she'll let me sleep with her!!! Paws crossed!
I hope Archer, our forgetful spy elf, is able to tell Santa Paws that Swish is at our house, so she doesn't get skipped over. If she does I'll be sure to share my goodies!
Tchau!
So this morning started like most mornings, except Mommy supplied me and the oaf with our morning sustenance. Mommy is usually getting pretty around this time, so I don't know what was up with that, but I'll start being a little more leery of such events because there was something weird in my food. I immediately knew there was kibble, egg, and the shell, then I noticed something else. It smelled weird and it tasted weirder, so I took it out of my bowl and put it on the floor, but I ate the rest of my food like a good pup-pup. Mommy came in and put the weird thing back in my bowl, so I politely took it out again, and she put it back. She did that a few times! Mommy let the oaf out and he came flying into my crate, and I was going to let him eat the poison, but Mommy said "No Trek, that's your brother's. You already ate yours." I don't know what kind of poison* she's trying to force upon me, but I'm not dumb!!!! So then she took my bowl with the poison in it to the kitchen. Crisis averted!
I hope Trek learns a valuable lesson on not inhaling your food, since he's apparently been poisoned!
Tchau!!!!
*The "poison" is Armada's Heartworm Preventative.
So the past few days have been weird and they're finally starting to be normal again. Mommy was home for a lot of days in a row!!!! The weirdest day was the first day Mommy stayed home all day. It was sooner than when Mommy stays home for two days in a row (I think the humans call this, weekend). Anyway, Mommy got up super early, she didn't let me and Trek jump on her to wake her up! But when she got downstairs she let us out to go potty and then loaded us up into her car! I heard a lot of commotion and eventually the kid made an appearance in the car. This was shaping up to be lots of fun, I could just tell! Before we got on the really fast road, Mommy stopped and picked up Uncle Jamie. This was very unusual because Uncle Jamie typically doesn't go anywhere with us. We drove all the way to the big city and when we got out of the car, we were around a BUNCH of other people. Then we found Balta and her Mommy and a bunch of other people Mommy and Daddy know! The Oaf kept getting all excited, he was squealing and pulling on the leash and just acting like a typical Oaf. Mommy told us that we were going to be running a 5k. I'm not sure what that is, but we ran for a long time for no reason. I was a perfect puppy and ran right next to Mommy the entire time, I'm not sure what the Oaf was doing, but Daddy mentioned that Trek ran double of what everybody else did.
After we got home from running, Mommy groomed us and said we had to look pretty since a bunch of family was coming over. After Mommy groomed us, she ran upstairs and groomed herself. She came back down with pretty clothes on, and that's when a BUNCH of people showed up! The first bunch of people were our cousins from North Carolina and their Mom, Dad, and Grandparents. We got to visit with them for a little bit, and then Mommy made us go to our room, where we waited FOREVER!!! Occasionally, people would come in and play with us or pet us, so that was cool. Mommy came and let me and the Oaf out, but she put us on leash and led us straight to the back door. There was food EVERYWHERE!!!! So much yummy smelling food!!!!! I have a feeling we were in our room because Mommy can't trust the Oaf not to steal all that yummy smelling food. While we were outback, some of the kids came out with us, and let us cuddle with them and played with us. After a while Daddy let us come back in, and we got to stay out! Then the real fun happened. People started giving us some of the yummy smelling food, and it was yummy tasting too!!!! We got lots of turkey, a little bit of ham (Mommy told everybody that the ham could make us sick, so we didn't get any more of it), and I got to try some of Sam's Sweet Potato Stuff, it was yummy! Eventually all of the people and all of the food disappeared and the house was back to normal.
I thought for sure all the craziness was over, but it wasn't! There's now a tree with lights on it, IN the house!!!!!! And Daddy set up some little houses on a table in the hallway!
Tchau!
